These small 3-Wire controllable fans are not particularly special other than that I featured them in my short about controlling a fan from CircuitPython.

Fan wiring is a bit inconsistent, some 3-Wire PWM fans use the third wire as a tachometer to sense the RPM of the fan. To recreate this project you need one which uses that PWM wire to actually set the fan speed, which these do.
